今年の夏バンコクを訪れた際、ストレートタイプの素麺つゆもスーパーに出ていたので思わず買ってしまった。訪れる度に「な～んだ、もう日本から背負ってこなくてもあるんじゃない・・・」って物が多くなって本当にビックリする。醤油は＊＊の醤油でないと・・・とか、味噌は＊＊産の＊＊味噌でないと・・・とこだわらなければ日本食材のコーナーには調味料をはじめ「ホントもう何でも揃ってるのねぇ・・・」なのです。
数年前までは毎朝納豆を食する父と納豆好きな私の為、好みの納豆を日本から背負っていっていたが（それまでは納豆はあってもねばりがあまり出ない、豆の味と風味がトホホ・・・の納豆ばかりだった）ここ数年納豆の種類も増え、美味しい納豆が店頭に並ぶようになり日本から背負ってかなくても良くなりました。
数年前に友人に「お土産何が良い？」って聞いたら「日本のあの酸味のあるマヨネーズが食べたいからお願い！」とリクエストがあり、お土産にカロリーハーフのマヨネーズと通常のマヨネーズを持って行った事もあったのですが、今ではハーフからノンカロリーから日本でおなじみのメーカーさんのマヨネーズが並んでいます。
バンコクのデパートでは「＊＊物産展」とかも行われ、日本各地のご当地物が並び日本と変わらないのです。
麺類が大好きな私ですが、日本では夏場も他の麺類と比べると食する回数が少ない「お素麺」ですが、何故かバンコクで過ごしていると無性に「お素麺」が食べたくなり、「今夜はお素麺ね！」と滞在期間中何度か必ず頂きます。
お素麺もツユも日本から背負ってかなくても手軽に購入できるので食するたびに「本当に便利になって何でもありになったなぁ～」とつくづく思うのです。
